The SIS policy provides cover of up to 10 million for any one claim, including costs, in the annual aggregate in any policy year. Whether you take an excess on your policy is your decision. John MacFie

John MacFie is Chairman of the Surgical Indemnity Scheme and a consultant colorectal surgeon. John was President of the Association of Surgeons of GB and Ireland  (ASGBI) from 2010 to 2012 and is the incoming President of the Federation of Surgical Specialty Associations (FSSA). He has a personal Chair with the University of Hull, has published extensively on many topics and has a substantial experience of medicolegal report writing.

John Moorehead

John Moorehead is a consultant colorectal surgeon in the Ulster Hospital, Belfast and Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queens University. He has also held the posts of Clinical Director for Cancer Services, Elective Care Reform and General Surgery. He is President elect of the Irish Association of Coloproctology and a member of the Management Board of the Irish Society of Gastroenterology. He was elected to the ASGBI Council in 2006 and will serve as ASGBI President for 2015 and 2016.
